Review Context

The Rosewood Vienna is considered one of the top luxury hotels in the city offering pristine views, beautiful rooms and top quality service. Rosewoods are not part of any rewards systems and are priced at the top of the market they serve. They are direct competitors of the Four Seasons, Aman and Mandarin brands. Does the Rosewood Vienna live up to the high expectations and cost?

Booking

As stated above the Rosewood does not participate in points or rewards. While you can book directly with the hotel, it would be foolish not to book with a Rosewood Elite Agent like myself. For the same rate as their website you receive

Breakfast alone was 40 EU a person so only a fool would not book through the Rosewood Elite program. I decided to book myself and got the perks. We reserved the largest room before the suite and got upgraded as soon as we booked into a lovely suite.

Pre-Arrival Support/Concierge

Most 5 star hotels happily provide you support prior to your vacation. The Rosewood concierge was fantastic, responding to each of my emails within minutes and organizing all my restaurant and activity requests seamlessly. He made a suggestion for a classical concert and secured us cheap seats. I figured we were in the nosebleed section, but when we arrived at the concert hall, the concierge pulled a string and got us literally the best seats in the house. This is the kind of service you are paying for.

Arrival/Check-In

The concierge arranged luxury airport transfers for us filled with bottle waters and snacks. We arrived they told us to go right into the hotel and they would handle our bags. Check-In was quick and the receptionist reminded us of the perks we received due to booking through a Rosewood Elite agent (me). She then had the concierge introduce himself and hand us our concert tickets.

Room

The room was stunning balancing Viennese charm with a modern look. The highlight had to be the beautiful coffee bar. The bathroom was beautiful with possibly the best bath products and soaps we ever used.

Location

The hotel could not be in a better location. You are literally in the center of the center, but just off the main square on a quieter street so it was the best of both worlds.

Food/Drinks

The Rosewood has a beautiful rooftop bar that clearly was a destination for hotel guests and locals alike.

Breakfast and Dinner were served in the rooftop Brasserie. We used our hotel credit for dinner one evening and had a wonderful Chateaubriand.

Breakfast consisted of a small buffet and a large menu of cook to order items. Coffee and espresso drinks were all included. The waiter encouraged us to order as much as we wanted off the menu and was disappointed how little Matt and I generally eat.

Overall

The hotel was perfect and I cannot recommend enough. Only issue is we really like Rosewoods now and the one in Vienna is a bit cheaper than most….
