2023 was a year Matt and I would mostly like to forget. While we are aware that we are quite fortunate in many aspects of our life, it was a tough year health-wise. However, travel was one area that provided much joy to a rather rough year and since this is a travel blog and not a 2002 MySpace post, let’s stay positive. Below is a 2023 travel review of the Reiser family and links to some of my favorite posts throughout the year.
January 2023
We left our home in Maine to travel one final time to our condo in Wilton Manors. Two days after arriving in our vacation property in Florida, we debated where we should go on vacation the following week. A light bulb went off in our brains that it was foolish to own a vacation property if we planned on continuing to prioritize traveling to other destinations. We enjoyed our final month in Florida and sold our condo in like 5 minutes. Prior to that we got to spend several days with our friends, visitors, and family. However, we found home in Maine.

March 2023
Matt has never been to Boston outside of Logan Airport. That had to change! We spent the day wandering around the city, Quincy Market, a few gay bars and enjoyed our beautiful boutique hotel, XV.

April 2023
In April we returned to Barcelona, one of our favorite cities in the world. This trip was unique in that it was the first vacation where no alcohol was consumed and it was a breath a fresh air…literally as we spent more time outside doing things like exercising. We also visited Sitges for the first time, which we loved.

Towards the end of the month, we also traveled to our adult hometown of Houston to see our favorite people, eat the best food and watch our Astros!
May 2023
In May we traveled to Bar Harbor for Memorial Day Weekend and my birthday. Bar Harbor was where Matt and I fell in love with Maine over 10 years ago and the town was as magical as ever.

August 2023
Once a year we travel to the only place colder than Maine, Alberta, to visit the family. We had a wonderful visit reconnecting with our parents, siblings, and our cutest baby niece. However, the highlight of the trip was watching our Mother marry her amazing longtime partner.

September 2023
Mexico City! The city I never knew I needed. What a wonderful place with amazing food. Matt and I were only there for a few days on business but we will return! We also got to go to Cancun and see my brother and enjoyed some beach time!

October 2023
I went down to Florida to see the folks, some of our friends and go on a cruise with Mom. I love traveling with my mother as we will have these memories forever. Stay tuned for a major update on that department!

November 2023
We had to save our best travel moment for last, Madeira. It was special 10 years ago and has only grown in our hearts.

People Came to Us
Our year was also highlighted by the fact so many friends and family have come to Maine to see us. We hope they all saw how special this place truly is.
White 2023 was not our favorite year, it was full of great moments that we will treasure.

Bon Voyage,
Andrew
